Forgiveness. Broken Bones Heal Faster than Hurtful Words

Do you remember when you were a kid that you could get mad at your best friend or brother or sister and the next day it was all forgotten and you played together like nothing happened. My mom and dad would not have to say or interfere, because they knew this would happen. Even when I became a parent to my two wonderful daughters and had to discipline them for one reason or another they would rush up to me afterward' s and give me a big hug and say I love you mommy, and tell me I am sorry for not listening to you. I see my relationships with others now that I am a grown woman that I need to nurture those relationships just like I did when I was a child, and forgive others when they hurt me. My mom use to say " Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words may never hurt you'. Wrong, thankfullly it was just a saying, because words hurt worse then a broken bone. Recently, I fell and was hurt, but am being healed daily, but the words that some people have said to me have cut me like a knife. By the grace of God I can and will forgive those people. Maybe, they don't even know that they hurt me. I want to be like that child of long ago and forgive and go on like nothing happened. I will do my part - now it is up to them to do their part. Is it not, because I am the bigger person No! It is because I have the One in me that has forgiven me for all the things I have done that hurts Him.
Forgiveness is a precious gift our Father gave us, but is something we can give freely to each other if we just open our hearts.
I hope this touches something in your Heart and a healing begins for those that feel hurt by others. Remember, it isn't them it is the enemy working through them that wants to Kill, Steal and Destroy. The Devourer. I am glad that we have someone bigger in our lives that has come to Heal the Broken Hearted. and His name is Jesus. Hugs, Margene
